The 2019 River States Conference Men's Cross Country Preseason Coaches' Poll identified WVU Tech as the league favorite for this year. The Golden Bears were picked to repeat as champions with the voting conducted by the 12 RSC cross country coaches.
WVU Tech won the RSC title last year with 29 points. The next closest team scored 80 points. The Golden Bears welcome back on roster three all-conference performers and five of their top seven runners from that meet. The preseason poll had WVU Tech receive 113 total votes and 10 of the possible 12 first-place votes.
Point Park (Pa.) University placed second in the poll with 107 votes and one first-place vote. The Pioneers were conference runner-up last season.
Ohio Christian University earned 94 votes for third place, and University of Rio Grande (Ohio) got 88 votes for fourth place. Those two schools switched spots from the end of last year. Rio Grande welcomed one first-place vote.
IU East garnered 84 votes to continue to hold down fifth in the conference.
Cincinnati Christian University and Asbury (Ky.) University were voted sixth and seventh in the poll with 69 and 62 votes, respectively. IU Kokomo was next in eighth place with 58 votes.
Alice Lloyd (Ky.) College (41 votes), Midway (Ky.) University (31 votes), Carlow (Pa.) University (25 votes) and Brescia (Ky.) University (20 votes) rounded out the 12 teams of the poll.
