Eastern varsity boys’ tennis fell short to Northwestern last night with a final score of 5-0.
Number-one Comet single Matt Harrison took on Tiger Cole Wise with scores of 5-7 and 2-6. Number-two Eastern single Lukas Darling was defeated by Northwestern Adam Morrow with scores of 1-6, 6-4, and 5-7. Number-three single Nolan Lapp from Eastern faced Caden Gaier from Northwestern with final scores of 3-6, 6-4, and 8-10 (super tiebreaker).
The number-one doubles team of Comet team Josh Rush and Andrew Hartman competed with Tiger team Will Lovelace and Tate Mullens for scores of 6-7 (4-7) and 3-6. Number-two Eastern doubles team with Sam Salkie and Zhayne Kelly came short to Northwestern’s Addison Horner and Ethan Kearney at 3-6 and 3-6.
The Comets will travel to Lewis Cass for the invitational tomorrow at 8 a.m.
