William “Bill” D. Riebe, Sr., 70, Kokomo, passed away at 3:06 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born July 31, 1949, in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, to Chester and Carolyn (Fuhrman) Riebe. On September 18, 1972, he married Peggy D. Trusty, in St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kokomo, and she survives.
Bill graduated from Schulte Catholic High School in Terre Haute and attended Indiana State University. He worked as a salesman for Hostess, Dietzens and Charles Chips and was also a route owner for Little Debbie’s.
Bill was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and he had held several leadership positions at local and state levels. He was a shareholder in the Green Bay Packers and was a member of the Lafayette Coin Club and St. Patrick Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife, Peggy Riebe, he is survived by his children, William Riebe, Jr., Nicole Riebe and Stacy Riebe; brother, Fr. Todd Riebe; and sisters, Heidi Riebe and Jill (Marty) Peters.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2019, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1229 N. Washington St., Kokomo, with Rev. Fr. Brian Dudzinski the celebrant and Rev. Fr. Todd Riebe the concelebrant. Burial will follow in Barnett Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, where the rosary will be read at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill’s memory to St. Patrick Catholic Church or to Food for the Poor.
