The Indiana Department of Transportation will have all travel lanes open to traffic on U.S. Highway 35/State Road 22/Markland Avenue—between Goyer Road and a terminus east of C.R. 300 East—by the end of the workday Tuesday, Nov. 19. Traffic has been restricted to a single lane in each direction during construction at U.S. 35 and the U.S. 31 Corridor.
Walsh Construction, the state’s contractor for this $38.9 million U.S. 31 Major Moves project, has widened Markland Avenue while building a new diamond interchange at the freeway. Contract 8 also includes three miles on new U.S. 31 mainline and bridges at Markland Avenue, Wildcat Creek, Stahl-Shenk Ditch, Central Railroad and Sycamore.
