William Mark “Bill” Garner, 81, Hartford City, passed away at 11:08 am Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Millers Merry Manor in Hartford City. He was born August 6, 1936, in Arlington, Virginia, the son of the late Roscoe H. & Thelma (Fawcett) Garner. On May 17, 1957, at Alto Methodist Church, he married Norma Banks and she survives.

Ralph Alton Grotrian, 85, Kokomo, went home to Heaven at 10:07 am Friday, September 22, 2017, from his home. He was born April 26, 1932, in Monroeville, IN, the son of the late Albert & Louise (Koeneman) Grotrian. On September 7, 1952, in Hoagland, IN, he married Lois Houk and she survives.
Ralph was a graduate of Hoagland High School, and a 1952 graduate of the International Business College. He served with the United States Army in Japan during the Korean War from 1952-1955, earning the rank of Corporal. He retired in 1994 from First Federal Savings Bank after 31 years.

Reese was a truck driver for many years. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Logansport and a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.

Jeff was a graduate of North White High School in Monon, IN. He then went on to receive his Associates of Applied Science in Electronics Technology from Ivy Tech Community College in Kokomo. Jeff retired in 2000 from Delphi Electronics as an engineer. He had also worked as an electronics’ technician at Functional Devices Inc, and as a math teacher for Ivy Tech Community College.

Mary Lou Kinney, 81, Kokomo, passed away 5:35 pm Monday September 25, 2017, at Waterford Health Campus in Kokomo. She was born August 15, 1936 in Kokomo, the daughter of the late Lewis H. & Hazel (Ancil) Ware. On November 13, 1954, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, she married Robert L. Kinney who preceded her in death in 2005.
Mary Lou was a 1954 graduate of Northwestern High School. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for the family farm. Mary Lou was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, and the Daughters of Isabella. She was also active in the Clay 49ers Extension Club.

Marianna (Shepard) Gollner, 82, Kokomo entered heaven at 12:02 PM, Saturday, September 23, 2017. She was born May 6, 1935 in Kokomo, Indiana. She was the daughter of George W. and Olive M. (Martzoff) Shepard.
She graduated from Kokomo High School in 1953. On April 11, 1964 she married Albert E. Gollner at First Baptist Church and he survives.
Marianna worked as a bookkeeper at Borden Ice Cream Co. and later at Haynes Stellite.
In addition to her husband of 53 years, Marianna is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law: Steven & Angela Gollner and Mark & Stacie Gollner both of Kokomo as well as ten grandchildren: Hannah, Sarah, Nathan, Esther, Noah, Joshua, Ruth, Mary, Abigail and Matthew Gollner and one step-granddaughter, Kristen Morefield.

Francis (Gene) Fox, age 95, passed away on Sunday September 24, 2017 at Harbour Manor in Noblesville, IN. He was born September 4, 1922 in Tipton County, IN to Francis and Clara (Meeks) Fox. Gene was a graduate of Tipton High School Class of 1941. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church, in Tipton where he served as a Sunday School Teacher for over 50 years. Gene obediently followed God’s call on his life to teach His word to others and had also developed a fervent prayer life.
Gene was married to Evelyn Zimmerman in 1959 and they had celebrated 55 years of marriage prior to her death in 2015.
Gene was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Pacific during WWII. He retired from Chrysler in Kokomo in 1987 after 36 years.

Marie Scott, age 89, of Tipton, IN passed away on September 21, 2017 peacefully at her home. She was born on May 3, 1928 in Moss, TN to Clure and Mollie (Reecer) Walker. On September 27, 1947 Marie married Cecil Scott and they had celebrated 69 years of marriage prior to Cecil’s passing on December 31, 2016.

Phillabaum Jr.
Henry Otto Phillabaum Jr., 99, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 in Kokomo. He was born in Kokomo on July 28, 1918 to the late Henry Phillabaum Sr. and Catherine (Crousore) Phillabaum.
Following high school, Henry was drafted into the United States Army and served during World War II. After he was honorably discharged from the military, Henry went to work for Haynes Stellite where he worked as an inspector for 42 years, retiring in 1980.

James Patrick Spalding, 77, went to be with his Lord at 11:31 am on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. James was born on March 21, 1940 in Lafayette, Indiana to Paul Spalding and Mary Spalding (Hurley). He married his wife Carolyn Cragun Spalding May 17, 1969 at St. Joan of Arc. She preceded James in death in December of 2000.
Jim graduated with the class of 1958 at West Lafayette High School. Upon Jim’s graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force in 1958 until 1962. He returned to West Lafayette as a Purdue firefighter; then he went on to become one of Chrysler’s Plant Protection Guards in Kokomo where he retired after more than 30 years of service.t

Judith A. Buttermore, 73, of Kokomo passed away surrounded by the love of her family at 9:16 pm on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital of Kokomo. She was born on May 27, 1944 in Kokomo to Marion and G. Helen (Huffer) Saul. On January 14, 1972 Judith married Ronald E. Buttermore and he survives.
Judith was a 1962 graduate of Western High School. During her many years in healthcare, she worked for Dr. Baylor and Dr. Downing’s office, worked as a cook and unit secretary at the Rehabilitation Hospital, was a unit secretary at Seton Hospital in Kokomo, a nursing assistant in the ICU at St. Joseph Hospital, and also worked in the 1970’s as a unit secretary in the ER for Howard Community Hospital.

Ronnie Dwane Browning, 43, Kokomo, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017, at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado. He was born April 23, 1974, in Kokomo, the son of Ronnie & Nanette (Osborne) Browning.
Ronnie continued to help people after his death, giving the gift of life through the donation of his organs.

Janet Lynne Elliott, 66, of Noblesville, passed away September 27, 2017. She was born August 14, 1951 to Eugene and Marolyn (England) Musgrave in Ft. Knox, Kentucky.

K. Jay “Mac” McKinley, 77, of Kokomo, passed away at 10:37 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. He was born January 20, 1940 in Matthews, Indiana to Francis “Bud” and Lela (Mendenhall) McKinley. He married Nancy Jackson on July 1, 1994 in Kokomo and she survives.
Jay retired from Chrysler in Kokomo. He pastored several years over the years in Peru, Galveston, South Holland and was currently serving as senior pastor at Grace Fellowship in Logansport. He also ran a sharpening business for the last 22 years and served on the Galveston Cemetery Board for several years.

Patsy Greenwood
Patsy Kay Greenwood, 75, Kokomo, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017 at her home. She was born October 12, 1941 in Alma, Michigan to Dewey Denzel and Ruby Belle (Teegardin) O’Boyle. On July 28, 1962 she married Robert J. Greenwood in Centerville, IN, and he survives.

Fred Kearnes
Fred W. “Bud” Kearnes, 74, Kokomo, passed away at 12:14 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at his home. He was born May 31, 1943, in Ft. Wayne, to Carl and Alice (Osborne) Kearnes. On April 26, 2006, he married Cami McKown, in Cape Coral, Florida, and she survives.
Bud served in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964 and was owner and operator of Bud’s Auto Sales until his retirement on June 1, 2016. He was a member of American Legion Post 317.

Charlene Gresley
Charlene Gresley, 77, of Kokomo, was born in Fresno, California on February 28, 1940, but spent most of her life as a resident of Kokomo, Indiana. On Friday, September 29, 2017 at 5:10 am at St. Vincent Hospital of Kokomo, Charlene left her earthly body to join her beloved husband and father in her Lord’s Heavenly home.
On April 8, 1988 Charlene married Raymond Gresley, the love of her life, and their marriage lasted until his death in April 2001.
Charlene was well-known in Kokomo as she worked at Continental Steel, Catholic Charities, Accurate Parts and Century Villa until retiring in 1989.

Sharon Goddard
Sharon Joyce Goddard, 79, of Kokomo, passed away September 28, 2017. She was born February 20, 1938 in Remington, Indiana to Robert and Lenora (Fortner) Young.
Sharon married Noel Goddard and had three wonderful children.
She worked for more than 33 years with Delco, retiring in the late 1990s.
