Christine S. Clear
Christine S. Clear, 56, of Burlington, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at her home. Chris was born to Herbert and Carolyn Spear Clear on May 17, 1960 in Monticello, IN.
Chris started working at the Carroll County Comet with Al Moss. She also worked at the Herald Journal in Monticello and the Kokomo Tribune. She then went back to the Comet. Chris also was a deputy with Howard County Assessor’s office. She graduated from Carroll High School class of 1978 and attended IUK.
Christine was a devote Christian, always putting others needs in front of her own.
She and her mother owned at one time the Carousel Flower Shop in Burlington. Chris enjoyed playing cards, puzzles and working on most any type of craft.
Her dog “Annie” was her whole world.
Christine is survived by her parents: Herbert and Carolyn Clear of Bringhurst. Two sisters and brother-in-law’s: Jill and Mark McCracken of Virginia and Lori and Scott Royse of Clarks Hill. Four nieces: Kylie, Brooke, Kira and Lauren. Two great nieces: Ella Jean and Lilah Marie.

Carolyn Sue Conaway, 79 of Tipton, died on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at her residence. She also lived in Kempton from 1937-1966. Carolyn was born in Tipton County on December 26, 1936 to Roma & Velma (Freeman) Straley. On June 6, 1954 she married Harry Earl Conaway and he preceded her in death on September 22, 2002.
Carolyn was a bookkeeper at Kokomo Heritage Federal Credit Union retiring in 2001. She was a member of Crossroads Community Church in Kokomo. Carolyn enjoyed making Christmas Candy and Ceramics. She loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in all their activities.
She is survived by a daughter, Pamela Sue Anderson and husband Kevin V., Greentown; a son Harry Keith Conaway and wife Melinda Jane, Russiaville; two sisters, Wilma Snipes, Kempton and Helen Agnew, Kokomo; six grandchildren, Joseph Anderson and wife Kim, Kristen Sparks and husband Chase, Christopher Anderson and wife Hannah, Brittney Shaffer and husband Kurt, Jr., Haleigh Conaway, and Caroline Conaway; four great-grandchildren, Gracynn and Josiah Anderson, Braxton Sparks, and Iris Shaffer; a sister-in-law, Margie Thorp, Tipton. Carolyn is preceded in death by a daughter, Edith Darlene Conaway; a brother, Sam Thorp; four sisters, Mary Snow, Edith Bryd, Sarah Yeary, and Joan Barrick Scalf.

Benjamin Huston Johnson, 79, Kokomo, passed away at 8:40 pm on Friday, November 19, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 16, 1937, in Kokomo, the son of Robert L. & Mary C. (Coughlin) Johnson. On March 23, 1963, he married Jean Ann Phillips and she survives.
Ben served with the United States Marine Corp earning the rank of Cpl. He retired in 2000 from Chrysler after 40 years of service. Ben was a member of First Baptist Church, UAW Local #685, and the Marine Corps League. He was a member of the Kokomo Great Banquet Community. Ben was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who put his family first before anything else. He was an avid card player and enjoyed going to the Kokomo Speedway.
Ben is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jean Johnson; children, David R. (Gina) Johnson, Kokomo, and Debra J. Johnson, Kokomo; grandchildren, Jessica (Johnny) Martinez, Jacob (Ashley) Johnson, Sarah Gittings, Ashley Mills, and Benjamin Johnson; step-grandchildren, Sandy (Greg) Hunt, and Sean (Nancy) Brown, including ten great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Dennis Johnson, and Rosalie Smith, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Robert M. Johnson, and his siblings, Marilyn Forkner, Donna Glendenning, Elizabeth Ward, and John Johnson.

Floyd L. Oliver
Floyd L. Oliver, 61, Kokomo, passed away at 10:55 pm Friday, November 18, 2016, at his home. He was born on November 9, 1955, in Dalton, GA, the son of James Floyd & Juanita J. (Hubbard) Oliver. On June 10, 1995, he married Dana Louise Norris and she survives.
Floyd was a 1974 graduate of Kokomo High School. He worked for Chrysler. Floyd was an avid hunter, fisherman and all around outdoorsman. He loved watching his daughter Misty play basketball and his son Cody play baseball and bowl. Floyd was a fan of IU basketball, Kokomo High School and the Chicago Cubs. He loved animals, raising cows and chickens and his dogs.
Floyd is survived by his wife Dana Oliver; children, Mistina (Jessica) Oliver, and Cody Oliver; brothers, Ronnie (Nancy) Oliver and Rick (Deborah) Oliver; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charlene & Larrell Norris; brothers-in-law, Tom Melton, and Wesley (Elizabeth) Norris; sister-in-law, Stacey (Brian) Renshaw, along with several nieces and nephews.

L. Etherington
Althea L. Etherington, 85, of Kokomo passed away at 4:05pm Saturday, November 19, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Althea was born October 2, 1931 in Spencer, IN to the late Rupert S. and Dorthy L. Kinney (Trusner). Her marriage to Dale E. Etherington who survives was on June 3, 1951 in West Middleton, IN. They were married for 65 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Althea was a 70 year member of West Middleton United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School, was a Bible School Director, Church Board Secretary, President of the United Methodist Women Club, editor of the church newsletter, Pioneer Auto Club, and the Friday Lunch Group at Glenndale. She was very involved in her grandchildren’s activities. She also loved to sew and was an I.U. fan.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years Dale Etherington, two daughters Dawn Brier (Charles), Sheila Taflinger (Bruce), seven grandchildren; Travis Taflinger (Lisa), Brooke Garcia (Jaime), Chad Taflinger (Angela), Kolten Smith (Christine), Dale Brier (Kristen), Mike Brier (Tamara), Jeff Brier (Julie), fourteen great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Amaryllis “Amy” Geary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers Richard and Robert Kinney.

Wayne L. Orem
Wayne L. Orem 69 of Russiaville passed away at 9:35pm Saturday, November 19, 2016 at his home. Wayne was born June 2, 1947 in Kokomo, to the late Ralph “Shorty” and Leona Belle Orem (Ryan). His marriage to the former Marilyn Beheler was in Kokomo on July 27, 1977 and she survives. Wayne was a 1966 Clinton Central Graduate. He served in the United States Army. He retired from Delco in 1999 after 30 years. He was a member of the Russiaville United Methodist Church, UAW Local 292 and the Travel Club of Indiana. He loved to listen to the police scanner, rummage sales, antique sales, and traveling. He had visited 40 states. However most of all he loved his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Marilyn Orem, children; Brian (Angie) Orem of Louisville, KY, Tammy Killingbeck of Arcadia, Jennifer Baker of Kokomo, Tiffany (Stefan) Calisto of Logansport, two sisters; Elaine (David) Bogan of Wentzville, MO, Mary Carroll of Kokomo, a brother Gale (Peggy) Orem of Charlotte, NC, nine grandchildren; Autumn Montgomery, Jessica Orem, Justus Montgomery, Austin Orem, Dillon Orem, Abigail Killingbeck, Evan Killingbeck, Quentin Baker, Sophia Calisto, one great grandchild Jaxson Appleton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Laquanza S. Donegan, 39, Kokomo passed away at 4:46 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2016 at Community Howard Regional Health. She was born June 27, 1977, in Amory, Mississippi, to L.C. Donegan, Jr. and Arnesta (Moore) Story.
Laquanza graduated from Okolona High School in Okolona, Mississippi. She was a special mother to her two children and was a faithful member of the church. She sang in the choir, worked in the nursery and was president of the single’s ministry.

A. Lineback
Roberta A. Lineback, 85, died at 4:10 pm on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Legacy of Waterford Place in Kokomo after an extended illness. She was a long time resident of Russiaville, Indiana where she taught kindergarten for 38 years. She was born in 1931 in Harrison Township, Howard County to the late John M. and Vergie O. (Murphy) Etherington. She was married to the late Robert C. Lineback in 1951.
Roberta graduated from Northwestern High School in 1949 and received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in 1970 and 1975 from Indiana University, Kokomo. She began teaching kindergarten privately in 1962 and continued until kindergarten classes were added at Western School Corp. She taught at Western Primary School from 1971 to 2000. Roberta was a member of Bible Baptist Church for over 60 years.
Roberta is survived by her son, Stephen Mark (Patricia) Lineback, Indianapolis, daughters, Vicki (Robert) Nebes, Allison Park, PA and Lois (Jack) Wall, Geneseo, IL; grandchildren, Kyle (Chris) Rice, Kenner, LA, Sara Wall, Sherman, IL, Kelly Lineback, Winston-Salem, NC, and Luke Wall, Annawan, IL; and great-grandson, Bennett Rice. Her surviving siblings are Conrad D. Etherington, Warren, Elaine (Tim) Quinn, Camden, and Sandy (Rod) Alspaugh, Peru.
Roberta was preceded in death by her daughters, Linda Lineback and Joy Lineback; siblings, Mary Jane Etherington, Marjorie Dyer, John M. Etherington, Jr., Sue Shepherd, Linda Lou Etherington, and Larry E. Etherington.

William Harmon
William “Bill” Harmon 78 passed away at Waterford Center Thursday morning. He was born to Alvia and Freda (Adams) Harmon in Kokomo IN. He attended Kokomo High School and graduated with the class of 1952. Bill then joined the U.S. ARMY and served from 1959-1962 until being honorably discharged. Bill then met Carol Catt the love of his life and married her February 13, 1966 together they would raise three children. William enjoyed playing horseshoes on a league team for White Meat Market and bowling in a senior league.
Bill is survived by children William, Laurie, and Greg (Missi) and grandchildren Ricky(Brittany), Bethany, Christopher and Matthew and brother Paul Wayne and companion (Teddy) and sister Marty (Ed) Carpenter, sister-in-law Nancy Harmon and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Junior Alvia and Robert and sister Helen Smith.

Alice E. Cook
Alice Ellen Cook, 91, passed away on Thursday, November 11, at Bridgewater Centre Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Hartford City, Indiana. She was born in Blackford County, Indiana on December 19, 1924 to the late Guy McConkey and Ethel McConkey.
Alice graduated from Roll High School and was then married to Jack Cook on October 14, 1951. Jack preceded Alice in death on November 1, 1980.
Alice spent her career as a homemaker, following her husband Jack to various military duty stations, including two assignments in Japan. In her free time, Alice liked to cook for her and her husband. Alice was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Montpelier, Indiana.
Alice is survived by 5 nieces, Patricia (Maxie) Tarter, Shirley (Richard) Huges, Betty (Dave) Tunmire, Carolyn (Jack) Dales, and Judy (Frank) Vancamp. She is also survived by 1 nephew, Paul (Marilyn) Pugh. In addition to her husband and parents, Alice was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Ennis, Tom, and Charles, a sister, Genevieve, and a nephew, Tom (Kathy) Pugh.

Raymond F. Marple, 70, Kokomo, died Saturday, November 19, 2016 at his residence. Raymond was born September 5, 1946 in Kokomo, IN and was the son of Edgar and Marguarite Marple. Raymond was married to Peggy (Jones) Marple. He joined the U.S. Army and served his country from 1965 to 1968 until being honorably discharged. He had two children Tonya, married to Jeff Wright, and Raymond Marple who is with Lori Horney. Raymond has four grandchildren, Stephanie Stater, R.J. Phillips, Alexis Marple and Hannah Marple. He has one great-grandchild Harper Marple. He is also survived by his close cousin Carol Steltenkamp . He was retired from FCA Kokomo Casting Plant. After retirement, he opened his own business Marple’s Handyman so that he could stay busy. He was proceeded in death by his parents, and two brothers Ben Humphrey and Bob Humphrey. Phyllis J. Alexander, 76, Kokomo, passed away at 12:56 pm on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at her home. She was born on September 13, 1940, in Kokomo, the daughter of Charles & Mary Lou (Clark) Reed.
Phyllis was a great homemaker who loved serving in the Salvation Army. She will be remembered as loving person who helped anyone in need. Most of all, she loved her children and grandchildren and cherished time spent with them.

L. Jarvis, Jr.
Leonard L. Jarvis, Jr., 74, Kokomo, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on January 4, 1942, in Indianapolis, the son of Leonard L. & Barbara (Barnhart) Jarvis Sr. On August 26, 1961, he married Sandra L. Wilkins.
Leonard was a 1961 graduate of Ben Davis High School, where he lettered in wrestling and football. He served with the United States Air Force from 1961-1964 in the 434th Refueling Wing as a refueler. Leonard retired in 2001 from Chrysler after 36 years of service. He had worked for both KTP, ITP 1 and the Shadeland plant in Indianapolis where he earned several perfect attendance awards. Leonard also owned and operated a Texaco station in Knightstown. He had a love for cars, racing and restoring them. Leonard was a member of UAW Union Local #685 and had been a member of UAW Local #1226 in Indianapolis.
He was also an active member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. He was ordained as a Lay Pastor at Beulah Land Church in Sharpsville, and had served as an Elder at the Knightstown Christian Church. Leonard and Sandy were active in the Feed My Sheep Outreach at Fresh Start Ministries. Leonard was a Cub Scout Master in the late 1960’s to early 1970’s earning the Silver Beaver Award. He started a ministry at the Pendleton Reformatory. Leonard was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren and valued close family relationships. Just recently, he became a great-grandfather to Sophia Markham.
Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sandy; children, Scott (Krista) Jarvis, Kokomo, Randy (Sherry) Jarvis, Portage, MI, Jennifer (Joel) Wilmoth, Fishers, and Matt (Deborah) Jarvis, Russiaville; grandchildren, Hayden Jarvis, Austin Jarvis, Shelby Jarvis, Alex Jarvis, Morgan (Chris) Markham, Claire (Adam) Braun, Max Richter, Rebecca Wilmoth, Joey Wilmoth, Cooper Jarvis, and Carter Jarvis; great-granddaughter, Sophia Markham; brothers, Mark Jarvis, and Donald Armstrong, and his favorite furry companion, Toby.

Jessica J. Dillinger Mallett, 37, of Kokomo passed away at 11:23 pm on Friday, November 18, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born on April 8, 1979 in Kokomo to Frederick A. Dillinger Jr. and Regina Frazier Dillinger. On August 14, 2014 Jessica married Rance Mallett and he survives.
Jessica was a 1998 Clinton Central High School graduate. She had a big passion for music and drawing. Jessica loved her family and children deeply and will be sadly missed by them.
Survivors include her husband Rance Mallett of Kokomo; three children Hayden Dillinger, Florencia Dillinger, Eli Dillinger all of Russiaville; three sisters Jennifer (Richard) Hadaway of Forest, Julia (Heath Knutson) Dillinger of Forest, Jami (William Lavender) Dillinger of Lafayette; and seven nieces and nephews.

Bessie P. Harp
Bessie P. Harp, 81, of Kokomo, passed away with her loving family by her side at 8:27 a.m. Friday, November 19th at her home in Kokomo. She was born August 20, 1935 in Corbin, KY to Thomas and Cleora (McNeil) Cox. She married Ray Harp July 20, 1972 in Kokomo and he survives. Bessie was employed by Delco Electronics for 21 years before her retirement. She enjoyed Quilting and Crochet.
Surviving family include her husband Ray Harp, Kokomo, children, Vicki Mote, Flora; Sue Scantland, Frankfort; Jan Cupp, Peru; Marilyn Lamm, Burlington; Rick Harp, Kokomo; and Jeff Harp, Kokomo. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Ronald Kent Hagy, 73, of Kokomo passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 19th, 2016
Ron was born on June 17, 1943 to his parents Lloyd G. And Dorothy (Morehead) Hagy in Kokomo, IN.
Ron was a graduate of Kokomo High School in the class of 1961.”Second- to- none in ‘61”
He graduated from IVY TECH in 1989 and was presented the Dean’s Award for “Outstanding Student” .
After serving his country in the U.S Air Force during the Vietnam War he returned to his job as an electrician at the Kokomo Transmission Plant. He retired as a Maintenance Area Manager with the Chrysler Corporation at KTP in 2001 after 38 1/2 years.Ron enjoyed building and repairing computers in his spare time and played a good round of golf when time allowed.

Kalvin R. Gamblin
Kalvin Ray Gamblin, 56, Kokomo, passed away at 8:46 a.m. Saturday November 19, 2016 in his home.
He was born to Jerry Gamblin, Sr. and Christine Brady on September 3, 1960 in Kokomo. He married Terry L. (Reynolds) Gamblin on February 17, 1980 in Tipton, Indiana and she survives. They were together for 37 years and married for 36 years. He always said he wouldn’t know what he would do without her, but now she is saying she doesn’t know what she would do without him. He fought a courageous battle to the end with his wife and daughter by his side. He isn’t in pain anymore he is with the Lord and we all will see him when the time comes.
In his younger years he worked for Steel’s Masonry and Den Ray Gardens. He is a member of the BAC International Union Local 4. He worked for Broady - Campbell in Indianapolis for over 20 years. For the first year of his chemo he went back and forth to work and chemo after work. His doctor Dr. Gupta at St. Vincent Cancer center always called him “Superman”. He retired due to his illness and had to go on disability which hurt him a lot. He loved watching NASCAR and hunting on T.V. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing with his brother. He loved the time he spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Terry L. Gamblin; son, Kalvin R. Gamblin II; daughter, Jessica L. Gamblin; grandchildren, Austin S. Keel, Ryder J. Gamblin, Jalynn R. Gamblin, Daryl E. Ward III, Latrell D. Ward and Kyra E. Ward; father, Jerry (JoAnn) Gamblin, Sr.; mother, Christine Brady; brothers, Jerry Gamblin, Jr., Glen Gamblin, Billy Ray Swaggerty and Matthew Gamblin; sisters, Darlene (Arnel) O’Campo, Sunny Gail West and Stacy (Phillip) Stanley, his favorite cousin, Timmy Gamblin, who he thought a lot of, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Glodine Miller and Claude and Delores Gamblin.
The family would like to thank Guarding Angel Hospice especially Nurse Leah for being there at the end and with the loving care of Kalvin.

Richard Lee
Richard “Dick” Lee, 87, passed away on Monday, November 21 at his home. Richard was born on May 2, 1929 to Claude and Mildred Lee in Mooresville, Indiana. He graduated from Martinsville High School in 1947. Dick served our country in the Army during the Korean War. Dick loved to fish, especially in Canada with Babe, Don, Bill, and Greg, and also loved to play cards. He married the light of his life, Shirley on June 1, 1975. They loved to travel and have seen most of the world. To Shirley, Dick was the kindest, most generous, patient man.
In 1959, he was a member of a State Champion Bowling League. In 1958, he started Lee Excavating, and operated for 46 years before retiring in 2004. Dick purchased Kyle Pickering Gravel Company in 1975. He also started the ready-mix concrete company, Kokomo Custom Concrete. In 1990, Dick started development of Emerald Lake subdivision. He wished to thank his former employees who helped make his success come true.
Dick was a member of the Howard County Masonic Lodge #93, a life member of the VFW 1152. He served as a trustee and sat on many boards at Shiloh Methodist Church. He’s been on mission trips to Florida and Alaska.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son Greg Lee; stepsons Roger (Nora) Greeson and Michael (Kim) Greeson; brother-in-law Dr. Rodney (Dr. Charlene) Davis; sister-in-law Melanie (Michael) Courtney; cousin Larry Foster; grandchildren Zachary Lee, Javan (Denae) greeson, Sara (Jason) Shonk, Amanda (Jake) Rickard, Lucas Greeson, Hannah (Ed) Pniak, Joel, Isaac, and Elizabeth Greeson; 7 great-grandchildren, and precious dog Gonzo.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Marilyn (Roy) Trowbridge.

Helen L. Merrell
Helen L. Merrell, 87, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Young America, passed away at 4:30 am on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Sage Bluff Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne. She was born on September 29, 1929 in Howard County, IN to Willard and Olive (Stout) Moore. On August 5, 1950 Helen married Gilbert R. Merrell, he preceded her in death.
Helen was a 1947 Ervin High School graduate. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker and worked for Anderson Abstract Company, Kokomo, and Young America Feed & Grain. Helen was a member of Upper Deer Creek Church, Galveston, Indiana.
Survivors include children Deborah (Bruce) MacPherson of Fort Wayne, and Jeff (Traca) Merrell of Young America; grandchildren Brad (Lindsey) MacPherson, Daniel (Carmen) MacPherson, Grant (Megan) Merrell, and Lauren Whitney Merrell; 7 great grandchildren: Reed and Emme MacPherson, Jack, Nolan, and Alanna MacPherson, Cotton and Phoebe Merrell; brother Howard (Carmen) Moore of Burlington, sister, Mae May of Chicago, Il.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter-in-law, five brothers and three sisters.

Rickey A. Lanning
Rickey Austin Lanning, 67, of Kokomo, passed away at 1:29 PM Saturday, November 19, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital, Kokomo. Born October 7, 1949 in Kokomo, he is the son of Rosemary (Davis) Lanning and the late Roy Eugene Lanning. He was a graduate of Kokomo High School. Rickey was employed at Chrysler for 34 years, retiring in 2004 after 34 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local #685 and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his mother Rosemary Lanning of Kokomo; one daughter Theresa (Mick) Caldwell of Idaville, Indiana; two brothers Kenny (Connie) Lanning of Washington State and Larry Lanning of Kokomo; three sisters Vickie (Bob) Draper of Twelve Mile, Pam (Rick) Dillman and Cindy (Scott) Ault, both of Greentown. There are two grandchildren Caitlin Winrick and Breeann Caldwell.
He was preceded in death by his father.

Martha Joan Rutherford 83, of Kokomo, passed away at 6:40pm Saturday, November 19, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital of Kokomo. The Lord welcomed home the most kind, caring person into his arms surrounded by her family.
Martha was born November 17, 1932, the daughter of Howard and Sally Boyer. She married William Rutherford on November 2, 1951 in Beamer United Methodist Church in Kokomo. Martha enjoyed the simple things in life. She cherished time with her family, was an avid reader, and loved crocheting, sewing and her very special pets, her cats. As a caregiver she selflessly gave of herself to care for her family and her parents without complaint. Martha passed her strong Christian faith down to her children who honor the Lord because of her example.
She is survived by her children, John Howard (Elizabeth), Judith Elaine, William Joseph, and Rebecca Jean (Lawrence) Hudson, a grandson, Aaron Hudson and great-grandchildren Serenity and Aaron Hudson Jr., sisters Wilma Ginn and Georgie Brooks.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, sisters Ada Lytle, Velma Walker, Aldine Luckey

A. Henderson
Richard A. “Dick” Henderson, 73, of Kokomo, died at 7:34 p.m. November 21, 2016 at St. Vincent Kokomo Hospital. Born January 18, 1943 in Frankfort, Ind., to the late James F. & Helen (Roe) Henderson. He married Leah Chandler on June 14, 1963 in Frankfort and she survives. Dick was a 1961 graduate of Frankfort High School and lived most of his life in Frankfort. He worked for Chrysler Corporation in Kokomo for 30 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. After retirement, Dick enjoyed being a handyman.

Marjorie L. Wilson
Marjorie L. Wilson, 94, Bedford, died at 5:31 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at Bliss Place, Bedford. Born Aug. 7, 1922, in West Lafayette, she was the daughter of Merle and Ida (Rhyne) Cue. She married Walter H. Wilson on Nov. 27, 1943, and he preceded her in death Nov. 24, 2015.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Randall Wilson and wife Tami, Bedford, and Richard Wilson and wife Mary Ann, Kokomo; five grandchildren, Tyler, Tara, Jay, Brooke, and Megan Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and a sister.

Dorothy Branstutter
Dorothy Branstutter, 97, went to be with the Lord at 5:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at Century Villa Health Care in Greentown. Her earthly journey began at Mountain Ash, KY, on Sept. 16, 1919. She was the daughter of Jacob and Rose Ann (Thomas) Cox. Dorothy was the wife of the late Rev. Thomas H. Branstutter. They were married Nov. 30, 1941, at Molus, KY. He preceded her in death Aug. 30, 1999.
Dorothy was a Christian for many years and a member of Bethel Tabernacle Church of God. Her life was a witness of her love for the Lord. She brought up her son in the fear of admonition of the Lord and was a Godly influence on her grandsons. They arise up and call her “Blessed.”
She was a graduate of Black Star High School at Alva, KY, with the class of 1939. During World War II, Dorothy worked at Westinghouse and Tank Depot in Lima, OH. She later returned with her husband to Alva, KY. They moved in 1946 to a little farm they had bought near Corbin, KY. In 1960 they moved to Kokomo. The following year they settled in rural Sharpsville.
As a dedicated homemaker for many years, Dorothy was an excellent cook, preparing wonderful meals for her family. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and food preservation. Never one to be idle, Dorothy spent time crocheting, knitting, and quilting. Her family treasures the beautiful quilts and afghans she made. She was also an accomplished seamstress and at one time made many of her clothes.
Now her earthly toil is done and she at rest with the Lord in Heaven and is joyfully experiencing a great reunion with her many loved ones.
Left to cherish Dorothy’s memory are her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Freda Branstutter, Sharpsville; three dearly loved grandsons and their wives, Rev. Jeffery Branstutter, and his wife, Cheryl, Springfield, OH, Dr. Joseph Branstutter, and his wife, Chara, Lebanon, OH, and Pastor Stephen Branstutter, and his wife Ashley, Kokomo; three precious great-grandchildren, Madison LeeAnne Branstutter, Boston Riley Thomas Branstutter, and Mark Isaac Branstutter; two sisters-in-law, Ethel Cox, Williamsburg, KY, and Pasty Cox, Sharpsville. Also Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her dear sister and brother-in-law, Docia and Chester Broughton; four beloved brothers and two sisters-in-law, Clarence Cox, and his wife Margaret, Rev. James Cox, Otis Cox, and his wife Effie, and Herbert Cox. Also preceding her death were an infant granddaughter, Susan Branstutter, a dear niece, Judi Ann Broughton, and other loved ones.

Luis Arredondo
Luis Arredondo, 69, Kokomo, passed away at 10:16 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at his residence. Born Dec. 19, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas, he was the son of the late Isidro Arredondo and Eloisa (Gonzales) Arredondo. On Aug. 15, 2008, he married Deborah L. (Rubow). She preceded him in death on June 23, 2016.
He worked in construction in Georgia and also worked as a crane operator in Kokomo for 20 years. He enjoyed shooting pool, listening to music, singing, karaoke, drawing and working crossword puzzles. He was a member of Gospel Light Mission.
Survivors include one son, Louis Ray Gonzales, Eastland, Texas; two daughters, April Dawn (Jackie) Meek, Eastland, Texas, and Stacy Lynn Scott; one brother, David (Barbara) Arredondo, Kokomo; a half-brother, Anthony (Belinda) Arredondo, Kempton; one sister, Stella Payne, Goldsboro, North Carolina; also several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Herbert L. Sands
Herbert L. Sands, 85, passed away Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at his residence in Kokomo, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Luttrell, Tennessee, on May 8, 1931, to the late Andy and Zettie Sands. In 1956, Herbert was married to the love of his life, Eleanor Ann (Carlile), in Kokomo. They were introduced through a cousin in Cicero, Indiana.
Herbert was employed with Haynes International in Kokomo for 36 years and in his free time enjoyed working in his garden and attending auctions. Herbert was also very fond of listening to country music.

In addition to his wife, Herbert is survived by four children, Rick (Jackie) Carlile, Roger Sands, Brenda Sands and Ronda (Ronald) Tedder; one sister, Josephine Nicley; one brother, Albert (Fontella) Sands; one brother-in-law, Roy Burchell; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Sands; eight grandchildren, Brett (Peggy) Carlile, Travis Carlile (Bobbi Thompson), Matt (Tara) Carlile, Heather Sands, Amy (Darren) Longenecker, Billy (Amy) Lytle, Carrie Lytle (Eric Zeman) and Jessica (Shane) Kuefner. Herbert is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by his brother, James; sisters, Naomi Collins and Eula Burchell; and a nephew, Leonard Burchell.

Mary W. Russell
Mary W. (Thomas) Russell, 91, Kokomo, went home to be with the Lord at 5:10 a.m. Nov. 19, 2016. Mary was born Jan. 7, 1925, in Jonesboro, Indiana, to her late parents, Albert and Alma (Dunn) Thomas. She was the second of six children.
Mary was valedictorian of her high school class. In 1946, she married Frederick H. Russell, also from Jonesboro. In 1956, the family moved to Kokomo for Fred’s work as a teacher and principal. Mary was a loving and devoted mother and homemaker. She was an extreme help to her husband in doing most of the typing for his job. She had an immense passion for education, which she passed along to her children throughout their childhood.
She had been a member since 1960 of Union Street Friends, which became First Friends of Kokomo. She was an active member of the Republican Party, doing polling and voter registration for years. Mary especially enjoyed gardening and growing flowers as her main hobby.
Mary will be sorely missed by her family and friends, who loved her dearly.
Mary is survived by her youngest brother, Glen, who was very close to her; children, Freda Russell, John Russell, Kokomo; Terry and Theresa Russell, Shanghai, China; many nieces and nephews around the country.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, and her siblings, Ralph, Gerald, Robert and Carl.

Hayden W. Vint
Hayden W. Vint, 22, Kokomo, passed away at 2:32 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2016. He was born May 13, 1994, in Howard County, to Kenneth W. and Heidi R. (Whitsett) Vint.
Hayden graduated from Eastern High School in 2013 and was a senior at Purdue University, majoring in agriculture. He played football, baseball and basketball at Eastern, and he enjoyed fishing, football, country music and hog production and management.
He is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Heidi Vint; sister, Madeline Vint; grandparents, Mike and Alta Blake, Ron Whitsett and Dolores Vint; great-grandparents, Dorothy Curran and Bud Buck; aunts and uncles, Cheryl (Dave) Duncan, Pam (Steve) Prifogle, Elaine Maddox and Samantha (Dan) Runge; the love of his life, Schuyla Sharp; and several cousins whom he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kenneth L. Vint, and great-grandfather, Richard Curran.
Even though his life was cut short, Hayden touched so many lives and had so many friendships that equaled that of those with many years of life. Hayden impacted more lives than we could have ever imagined. Our family has been touched by the outreach of friends, family, and people some of which we don’t even know who have offered condolences and prayer. We appreciate all of the prayers and ask for continued prayers as we journey through this difficult time.

Dale Martin
Dale Martin, 88, of Kokomo, passed away at 4:15 AM, Thursday, November 10, 2016 at North Woods Village. He was born December 14, 1927 in Clinton, Arkansas to the late Alma and Cora (James) Martin. He married Marcia (Eltringham) Martin on October 17, 1981 in Landis, Indiana, and she survives.
Dale served in the United States Army as a sergeant during the Korean War. After serving his country, he worked for American Standard, later known as Kokomo Pottery, for over 30 years. Dale was an avid fisherman and sports fan and enjoyed watching IU basketball and Cardinals baseball games. Dale was a proud life member of the local VFW Post#1152.
Surviving is his loving wife of 35 years, Marcia Martin; son, Jeff Martin; daughter, Karla (James) Johnson; stepsons, John (Donna) Davin, Bill Davin, and Scott (Marcie) Davin; stepdaughters, JoEllen (Gene) Northcutt, Debra (John) Hollis; eighteen grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother, Darrel Martin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Martin and Marlin Martin; and three sisters, Penny Bagley, Connie Black, and Thelma Thompson.
