Richard Benberry submitted his letter of resignation as varsity head football coach at Kokomo High School on Monday.

In his resignation letter, Benberry thanked his assistant coaches, fellow teachers, and the KHS administration for their support during his two seasons as head football coach.

“My family and I have placed a lot of thought into this decision,” Benberry said. “I do not know what the future holds for me and my family, but I know football will be a part of it in some capacity.”

Kokomo High School Athletic Director Nick Sale thanked Benberry for the time he invested into the varsity football program.

“Richard always conducted himself with the utmost professionalism,” Sale said. “I appreciate Coach Benberry’s efforts in making a positive impact on our KHS student athletes.”

The varsity head football coach position will be posted on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019.
