Three Indianapolis women were arrested following a strong-armed robbery this weekend at Englin's Footwear in the Markland Mall.

On Nov. 8 just before 5 p.m. officers of the Kokomo Police Department responded to a theft at Englin’s Footwear, 1215 S. Reed Road. It was reported that three black female suspects fled the store with several pairs of UGG boots and were last seen fleeing southbound on S.R. 931 in a blue Chevy Malibu with paper plates.

Officers arrived and spoke with mall security who reported being threatened with pepper spray by one of the female suspects as he attempted to stop them. Kokomo Police notified area agencies of the suspect vehicle and upgraded the call type from theft to strong armed robbery.

Deputies with the Howard County Sheriff's Department located the suspect vehicle traveling southbound on S.R. 931 at 400 South and initiated a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle failed to stop and increased speed. The suspects fled south on U.S. 31 into Tipton and Hamilton counties, where additional agencies assisted in the pursuit. The occupants threw stolen property from the vehicle during the pursuit. Deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department were able to successfully deploy stop sticks. A short time later the vehicle pursuit ended in the area of Clay Terrace Shopping Center.

No injuries were reported during this incident. All three occupants were arrested and transported to the Howard County jail on numerous charges.
