Kokomo man stabbed at Motel 6

A Kokomo man was found stabbed early this morning at Motel 6, and a man has been arrested in the incident. 

Just after 12 a.m., officers with the Kokomo Police Department responded to the hotel, located at 2808 S. Reed Road, on a report of a stabbing. Officers located Jesse Brown, 41, of Kokomo with a severe laceration to his abdominal area. The victim was treated by medics at the scene, transported to Community Howard Regional, and then transferred to an Indianapolis hospital for more advanced care.

During this investigation, officers learned Brown and his wife were staying at Motel 6. Austin Sayers, 24, had been visiting with them. An argument between all three individuals began inside the hotel room which then led to an altercation in the hallway outside the room.

As a result of this investigation, KPD arrested Sayers for aggravated battery, a level 3 felony.
