Kokomo man arrested for attempted murder

A 21-year-old Kokomo man has been charged with attempted murder.

Yesterday just after 5 p.m., officers of the Kokomo Police Department responded to 310 E. Jackson St. in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers identified the victim as Brandon Smith, 26. Smith was suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm. Smith was transported to a local hospital where it was discovered the bullet had traveled to Smith’s chest. Smith was flown to an Indianapolis hospital for further treatment. He is listed in stable condition.

The investigation revealed that Smith had been involved in an argument with Keegan Mills, 21. During the argument, Mills shot Smith one time. Mills was arrested for one count of attempted murder and one count of invasion of privacy.
