OBITUARIES

Brett C. Daniels

Brett C. Daniels, 54, Kokomo, passed away Sunday morning, September 27, 2015, at his home. He was born on May 3, 1961, in Kokomo, the son of Doral L. & Frances H. (Hyslop) Daniels. On August 15, 2015, during the Danny Serrefin and CTA Concert in Foster Park, he married his love of fourteen years, Angela A. Thiesing and she survives.

Brett was a 1979 graduate of Haworth High School and a 1986 graduate of Ball State University. He was employed for over 20 years with HH Gregg in sales where he was the President’s club winner in sales for three years. Brett had previously worked as a financial advisor for KJ Brown. He and his father shared a two decade career as gate officials at the Kokomo High School football and basketball games.

Brett began his life in the entertainment industry as a radio D.J. at Ball State. He continued his involvement for years in the entertainment industry with Big D and AAction Promotions. Under the vision of Mayor Goodnight and the city staff he was able to promote many great acts that played at the Kokomo Arts Pavilion at Foster Park. Brett enjoyed going to Yogi Bear Campground since the early 2000’s participating in events and promoting an annual concert for fellow campers, culminating this past Friday with the 50th anniversary tour of the “Lovin Spoonful”.

In 2011, Brett won the Chamber of Commerce Award for Special Achievement and superior performance for his successful development of the Kokomo Summer Concert Series. His commitment to community service was a model for the community. He truly loved spending time with friends and family and going to concerts.

Brett is survived by his wife, Angela Thiesing, Kokomo; mother, Frances H. Daniels; brothers, Mark L. (Ofelia) Daniels and Kirk J. (Wendy) Daniels; niece, Alexandra (Drew) Durham; nephews, C.J. Daniels and Tyler Daniels; brothers-in-law, David (Sheila) Thiesing and Jake (Marian) Thiesing; sisters-in-law, Katie (Jim) Dillinger, Billie Balke, Susan Thiesing, Pattie (Bob Schulz) Gannon and Hedi (Bert Defusco) Thiesing, along with lots of acquired nieces and nephews, especially McKenzie, Hannah, Carli Mauck, Maddie Rogers, Hailey, Madelyn, Emma, and Keri Townsend.

Brett was preceded in death by his father, Doral L. Daniels and mother-in-law, Naomi G. Thiesing.

Donald E. Holihan

Donald Eugene Holihan, 85, of Kokomo, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Wellbrooke of Kokomo. He was born, March 24, 1930, to Homer Josephand Violet Sage Holihan, in Benton County, Indiana. Raised in Fowler, Indiana, he graduated from FowlerHigh School and was class president from seventh through senior years.

He attended Indiana Central College where he played basketball and graduated from Ball State Teachers College with a Bachelor ofScience degree in 1952. He was a chartermember of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Upon enlisting in the United States Navy, he was selected for Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI and served as a reserve officer. After his discharge, he completed a Master ofArts degree from Ball State University and post-graduate studies at Butler University. He taught at Monon and Kokomo High Schools and served as night school principal, vice principal atHaworth High School and associate principal at Kokomo High School, retiring in 1994. He was a long time and activemember of First Christian Church. Donspent retirement at Lake Manitou and Panama City Beach. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, travelingabroad and throughout the United States. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Don is survived by his wife, Loretta Holt Holihan; son,Bryce Holihan; daughters, Kara (Rex) Gingerich and Maura (Chris) Williamson;grandchildren, Tori, Tyler and Weston Gingerich and Ella and Ava Williamson;sister-in-law, Janice Holihan; brother-in-law, Donald Bailey, of Fowler, additionalbrothers-in-law and sisters- in-law, Lois (Vimbert) Smith, Sheridan, Margaret(Edward) Armstrong and Marian (Denny) Henry, Walton; brother-in-law, Vince(Linda) Holt, Kokomo, and many nieces and nephews.

Dorotha Pulley

Dorotha (Mundell) Pulley, 93, of Forest, passed away at 1:14 am on Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Wesley Manor in Frankfort. She was born on January 2, 1922, in Clinton County, the daughter of Robert Ray & Anna Elda (Strain) Mundell. On October 24, 1941, she married Charles E. Pulley in Forest, IN, and he preceded her in death on January 27, 2000.

Dorotha graduated from Forest High School and attended Beauty School in Kokomo. She was a homemaker and beautician in Frankfort. Dorotha was a member of Clinton County Home Economics Club and Forest United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir, played piano, and served on many committees.

Dorotha is survived by her children, Donald C. (Jean) Pulley, Niceville, FL, Stephen L. Pulley, Carmel, Allen R. (Shirley) Pulley, Fishers and Christopher J. (Pamela) Pulley, Pasadena, MD; grandchildren, Teresa (Jeremy) Radwan, Dawn (John) Werry, Nicole (Derrick) Herr, Kathryn Pulley, Charles S. Thom E. Shuck

Thom E. Shuck, age 65, of Windfall, Indiana passed away on Saturday September 19, 2015 at his home. He was born on May 22, 1950 in Kokomo, Indiana to George and Betty (Pettay) Shuck. Thom married Michelle Heaton on December 12, 2012 and she survives.

Thom was a 1968 graduate of Western High School in Howard County. He was a member Sons of the American Legion where he held the post of Adjutant, Moose Lodge, H.O.G., Abate and the Fraternal Order of Police. Thom’s interests included NASCAR, Colts Football, gun collecting, and watching John Wayne. He also collected Tom and Jerry memorabilia. Thom was a giver, every year he dressed as Santa Clause and visited Millers Merry Manor and other sites during the Christmas season. He took home the People’s Choice from the 2014 We Care Christmas Tree Auction.

Thom Shuck was at his glory when he was on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was one of the founders and the annual host of the Matt Thompson Memorial Ride of Tipton County. Along with his good friend Lenny Tebbe, he and Thom were able to visit 49 of the 50 United States on their bikes over the past few years.

Thom is survived by his wife, Michelle Shuck of Windfall, his son; Tom Shuck of Tipton, two daughters, Jennifer Stewart of Noblesville and Danielle Robertson of Windfall. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Atlanta Brown of Logansport, Thomson Shuck of Noblesville, Bailey Shuck of Noblesville and a great grandchild, Kaydence Brown of Logansport. Two sisters; Sherry Shepherd of Russiaville and Mindy Kelley of Merrysville, Ohio also survive with several nieces and nephews.

Thom was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mike Sergeant.

Louise Bontrager

Louise Bontrager, 78, passed away Thursday September 17, 2015, at 8:04 am at North Woods Village. She was born august 9, 1937, to Chris E. & Melinda (Miller) Otto in Sullivan, IN. She married Emory J. Beachey, December 10, 1968, and he preceded her in death in 1990. She married Andrew Bontrager June 6, 1992, and he preceded her in death on November 28, 2011.

Louise was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church in Sarasota, FL. She attended First Church of the Nazarene in Kokomo. She loved Florida and entertained many friends while living there.

She is survived by her twin brother Levi and wife Dorothy Otto, William and wife Dorothy Otto of Sullivan, IL; sister Fannie Marie and husband Omer A. Miller, Arcola, IL; step-children, Rosa Marie Cender, Ella Mae and husband Yost Schrock, Jacob and wife Bonnie Beachey, Junior and wife Judy Beachey, Alta and husband Melvin Wagler, Almeda Mast, Raymond and wife Holly Bontrager; step-daughter-in-law, Carol and husband Don Voth; sisters-in-law, Verna Bontrager and Emma Bontrager, along with many nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Rebecca, both husbands, step-son, Dr. Edwin Henry Beachey, step-in-laws, Eldon Cender and Joan Bontrager.

Dolores Jeanette Williams, 91, of Kokomo, went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2015 at 11:55 AM. Born November 11, 1923 in Lafayette, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Goans and Dorothy (Moll) Goans. She was a 1942 graduate of Jefferson High School. On February 12, 1944, in Lafayette she married her high school sweetheart James E. Williams, and he survives. She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church of Kokomo. She enjoyed reading, Crocheting, Knitting, and was a Cubs fan. In 1953 she and James moved to Kokomo from Lafayette. Following James’ retirement, they made their residence in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1980.

Dolores is survived by her husband of 71 years, James E. Williams of Kokomo; two sons James E. (Jeanie) Williams Jr. of Kokomo, Gary D. (Diane) Williams of West Lafayette; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren, four step- great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother Richard Goans; also two sisters, Margaret Vance and Dorothy Breitwieser.

September 6, 1943 - September 19, 2015

Timothy Jay Jarvis Sr., 72, Sharpsville, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at his home, with his family at his side. He was born Sept. 6, 1943, in Kokomo to the late Harold and Helen Vignary Jarvis. He married Linda K. Forsythe on Dec. 19, 1970, at Sharpsville Methodist Church.

Tim was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1961 to 1964. He worked construction most of his life and retired from Indian Heights Elementary School after serving 12 years as a custodian. Tim and his wife were former owners of Jarvis Pizza in Sharpsville. He loved playing basketball, golf, fishing, playing cards, and going to the auto races. Tim was an animal lover. He loved to spoil his pets that were very special to him. His greatest accomplishments were 30 years of sobriety and letting his family know how much they were loved.

Survivors include his wife, Linda K. Jarvis; sons, T.J. Jarvis Jr., Beaverton, Oregon, Matt Jarvis, Sharpsville, and Tracey Jarvis, Los Alamitos, California; sister, Kandy Barber, Fort Wayne; stepsister, Lisa Graham, Clarksville, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ronnie and Bob Jarvis; sister, Becky Jarvis; stepmother, Sodie Biddle.

Carrie Leona Siess, 54, Kokomo, passed away at 12:58 PM, Friday, September 4, 2015, at St. Vincent Hospital 86th Street, Indianapolis. She was born October 10, 1960 in Cherry Point, North Carolina to James Randall Siess and Janet Elaine (Smith) Siess. She worked 12 years for Bob Evans in Kokomo and Marion. Carrie enjoyed crocheting, coloring, Sudoku puzzles, and she loved her coffee. She also loved spending time with her family and her dog, Rockie.

Survivors include her son, who was the light of her life, Christopher Kedric Kelley of Kokomo; best friend, Archie J. April 5, 1947 - September 17, 2015

Terry Lee Cage, 68, of Kokomo died Thursday, September 17, 2015 at St. Vincent’s Kokomo Hospital.

Mr. Cage was born on April 5, 1947 in Kokomo, Indiana to Donovon and Frances (Pitzer) Cage. He was a 1965 graduate of Kokomo High School, and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving honorably during the Viet Nam War. After leaving the Marine Corps, Mr. Cage worked for Delco Electronics for 30 years prior to his retirement. Mr. Cage was a Lifetime Member of the VFW Post No. 1152.

Mr. Cage is survived by his wife, Sherry (Seward) Cage; son Joshua (wife Shannon) Cage of Kokomo; daughters: Theresa Cage-McKee of Kokomo and Shannon (husband Jason) McClish of Peru; twin sister: Cindy Chaplin; half-sisters: Karen Lasley of Kokomo and Donna Cohen of Indianapolis; grandchildren: Dylen (fiancee’ Ayrial Lewis) McClish, Madalynn Cage, Damrin and Austin McClish, Sabian McKee; Sierra Feitl, Ethan Cage; great grandchildren: Kaeli Lewis and Daven “Clara” McClish. Robert P. Shore

Robert P. Shore, 77, of Kokomo, passed away September 20, 2015 at his residence. He was born on November 19, 1937 in Anderson, IN to Byron and Marie Shore and Charlotte Shore. Robert graduated from high school in Alton, IL. Following high school he joined the U.S. Army for 3 years and then enlisted in the Air Force, serving 20 years. In 1969, Robert served in the Vietnam War. He married his loving wife Esther on February 3, 1959. Robert and Esther had a beautiful daughter, Terry Lynn Shore-Beins, who was born December 14, 1959. Robert loved to ride his bike, scuba dive, mountain climb, travel, and spend time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Esther Shore; his son-in-law, Michael Edward Beins; his granddaughter, Brooke Hobscheidt and her husband Corey; two great-grandsons, Carson Henry and Crew Michael Hobscheidt, of Plattsmouth, NE; and Copernicus, his loving dog pal. Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Terry Lynn Shore-Beins, his father and step-mother, Byron and Marie Shore, his mother, Charlotte Shore, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Glen and Edna Stapleton, and many friends. Peggy Morrow, 77, Kokomo, passed away at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Kindred Healthcare, Kokomo. She was born June 1, 1938 in Kokomo to the late Drury Max and Mary Elizabeth (Tolle) Springer. On June 16, 1956 she was married to James Morrow in St. Patrick Catholic Church and he survives.

Peggy was a homemaker who enjoyed crafts, IU basketball, the Chicago Cubs and traveling, especially her five trips to Hawaii. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be truly missed.

Danny “Dan” G. Myers 55, Kokomo passed away at 5:05pm Tuesday at his home.

He was born on February 11, 1960 in Kokomo, the son of Glenn A. Myers and Juanita L. (Crosley) Chaney.

Dan attended Northwestern Schools and was a member of the Kokomo High School class of 1978. On February 26, 1978 he married Sandra M. (Kanable) Myers and she survives.

Dan worked for Kolux Sign Company for eight years. He later opened his own business Clearview Window and Door Company. He finished out his career with Majestic Security as a gate guard at Menards. Dan was also an active member of Howard Lodge No. 93 Knights Templer, also the York Right and Scottish Right.

Dan is survived by his wife Sandra Myers, Kokomo, their 3 children, Michael Myers, Marc (Kelly) Myers, and Stephanie (Zach) Todd. 5 Grandchildren, Skyler Longfellow, Kaitlyn Batchelar, Ashlyn, Christian and Monica Myers; his Mother and Father-in-law Harold and Mary Miller; 4 half-sisters, Renata Craig, Dana Winchester, Cecil “CC” Ingram, and Glenda (Ingram) Reese; and several step siblings, nieces, and nephews.

Joenita M. Cone

Joenita Mae Cone, age 93, of Kokomo, passed away September 16, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. She was born on August 15, 1922 in Kokomo the daughter of the late Stanley R. and Pearl M. (Singer) Harrell. On November 26, 1942, she married Patrick Cone, and he preceded her in death.

She retired from Stellite in 1984 after 20 years of service where she worked in inspection. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities and Notre Dame Football along with line dancing. She was a volunteer at St. Joseph’ Hospital for over 20 years. Joenita was also a member of the Eagles and Moose.

Survivors include her son, Patrick Cone Jr. of Knoxville TN; two daughters, Susan Scarborough and Connie Sottong, both of Kokomo; sister, Willie Lowry, Kokomo; four grandchildren, Tamara (Michael) Shannon, Pamela Knowles, Debbie Batson, and Stephanie (fiancée, Clifton Payne) Reed; eight great-grandchildren, Mason Willis, Cooper Reed, McKenna Reed, Gwen Payne, Jessica Shannon, Damion Batson, Savanah Batson, and Alicyanna Batson; and several nieces & nephews. Jewel D. Fife

Jewel Dean Fife, 75, Kokomo, passed away on Sept. 16, 2015, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo, surrounded by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Vonda and Jim Hughes. She was born on March 29, 1940, in Alabama, the daughter of Henry Colburn and Jewel T. (Johnson) Colburn.

Jewel retired from General Motors. She loved to travel, and her trips included voyages from New York to California, Hawaii, the country of Holland, all via motorcycle, cruise, or car. She loved it all. Jewel fought a very brave and courageous battle with breast cancer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Margo Fife in 1995, and her siblings, Robbie, Jesse, and Wanda. Jewel is survived by her daughters, Vonda Hughes (Jim), and Tresa Barnes (Tim); her grandsons, Joshua D. Smith, and Dr. Abrin Schmucker and his wife, Dr. Ashley Schmucker; her great-grandson, Braxton Downs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ralph L. Bozell

Ralph Lewis Bozell, 92 of Kokomo died at 7:26 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015 at St Joseph Hospital, Kokomo. He was born September 14, 1923 in Tipton County to William and Alma (Alspaugh) Bozell. On September 4, 1948 he married Lettie “Jean” Smith and she preceded him in death on April 7, 2002.

Ralph had retired from Indiana Bell in 1986 where he was a switching equipment manager. He was a member of the Goldsmith United Methodist Church, Austin Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite - Valley of Indianapolis. He enjoyed wildlife, animals and fishing. Ralph served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1943-46.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth Bozell, Madison; three grandchildren, Matthew Bozell, Caleb Bozell and Morinda Leffew; step-grandchildren Erin & Michael Burleson; nephew Ronald Hawkins.

Jeanette Lovely

Jeanette Lovely, 91, of Kokomo passed from the loving arms of her family into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 10:37pm Monday, September 21, 2015 at her home. Jeanette was born April 29, 1924 in LaFollette, TN. She was the daughter of Thomas and Clurcie (Evans) Harness. On June 15, 1940 in Caryville, TN she married Carl Lovely. He preceded her in death on June 30, 2011.

Jeanette was a homemaker who in the past enjoyed being a volunteer at the Rescue Mission and Meals-on-Wheels. She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter Wanda Pickett, brothers, James, Levi, Gary, Curtis, and Kenneth Harness, one sister Patsy Raudenbush.

John E. Penner

John Edward Penner, 84, Kokomo, Ind., went to be with the Lord Sept. 21, 2015, at The Heritage of Fort Wayne. During his brief battle with cancer, John shared his faith in Jesus Christ with family, friends and care providers.

John was preceded in death on August 23, 2010, by his wife of 56 years, Thelma Marie Gerhardt, of Netawaka, Kan.; and by his parents, Louis Andrew and Fern Elizabeth (Fisher) Penner. Surviving are two sons, David Wayne Penner and wife Janet Kay (Dammann) of Lake Zurich, Ill.; Gary Edward Penner and wife Janis Gale (Walters) of Fort Wayne, Ind; and one daughter, Sara Louise (Penner) Schamerloh and husband, Richard J., of Fort Wayne. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Andrew (Allison Whitney), Alison, Janine and Claire Penner; and one great-grandson, Evan Penner.

John was born Oct. 24, 1930, in Denver, Ind., (Miami County) and graduated from Peru High School in 1949. He retired from Delco Electronics, Kokomo, in 1987 after 32 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served his country in the Korean War.

He was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Kokomo, for more than 50 years, where he volunteered as a deacon, usher and groundskeeper.

John enjoyed nature and could be found hunting for morel mushrooms in the spring and collecting hickory and walnuts in the fall. He also enjoyed photography, travel, computers, gardening and time with family, and instilled a love of the same in his children and grandchildren.

Debra “Debbie” Ann Cuthbert, 62, of Rochester, passed away at 6:55a.m., on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at her residence.

Debbie was born in Kokomo on January 19, 1953. She married Robert F. Cuthbert on October 10, 1980. She retired from K Mart as a Supervisor. Debra graduated from Kokomo High School in 1971. She volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, and was involved in WE CARE, and Relay for Life. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, bowling, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Debbie is survived by her children; David (Sherry) Carrell of Rochester, Brian Carrell of Kewanna, Ross (Marie) Carrell of Jackson, MI, and Jerry (Suzan) Cuthbert of Fulton; mother, Fern Woodring of Kokomo; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Thomas, JJ, Gavin, Andrew, Anna, Esther, and Shiloh; step grandchildren, Jessie and Marissa; step great-grandchild, Anna; sisters, Fern (Youssef) Fennell, Bonnie (Robert) Virden, Cecelia (Louis) Clinton, Millie McKenna, Pam (John ) Frazee, Melodie (Mark) Jennings and a brother, Charles (C.V.) Woodring; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and several special friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cuthbert; father, Roscoe Woodring; and a brother, Thomas Woodring.

September 10, 1930 - September 23, 2015

Marina Rodriguez, 85, of Kokomo, passed away at 6:38 AM, Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at her residence. She was born September 10, 1930, in Villagran, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Geronimo Martinez and Rebeca (Torres) Martinez. On April 12, 1953, she married Carlos Rodriguez in Villagran, Mexico at Parraquia de Villagran e Hidalgo, and he survives. Marina enjoyed sewing, reading, and keeping and caring for her home and family

Marina is survived by her children, Maria, and husband Steve Crousore of Kokomo, Carlos, wife Gina Rodriguez of Kokomo, and Nino, wife Peggy Rodriguez of Kokomo; grandchildren, Ashley Rodriguez of Kokomo, Tara Rodriguez of Kokomo, Erin, husband Thomas Richter of Hilton Head, North Carolina, and Ryan Rodriguez of Chicago, Illinois; sisters, Josefina Doria of Villagran, Mexico and Evangelina Garcia of Villagran, Mexico; 18 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Rebeca Rodriguez, and a brother, Benjamin Martinez.

Randy L. Hester

Randy Lee Hester, 50, of Kokomo, passed away at 6:03 am on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at St. Vincent Hospital of Indianapolis. He was born on January 21, 1965, in Kokomo, to Clayton Hester and Leona (Thomas) Browning.

Randy was a Kokomo High School graduate and worked as a contractor.

Survivors include his mother and step father Leona M. (Dale E.) Browning of Kokomo; brothers Robert R. Hester of Peru, Ronald J. Browning of Carmel; sister Darlene (Hester) Couch of Knoxville, TN; step brothers Steve Browning; Jerry Browning and Patrick Browning; companion Kathryn L. Peterson-Neal of Kokomo; and numerous nieces,nephews and cousins.

Randy was preceded in death by his father Clayton Hester.

Shannon R. Brock

Shannon Rae Brock, 45, Kokomo, passed away at 10:59 am on Monday, September 21, 2015, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. She was born on August 9, 1970 in Kokomo, the daughter of Carey Jay & Theresa (Hill) Pratt.

Shannon had previously worked for Bona Vista for 10 years, working with disabled children at the school. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Shannon is survived by her daughter, Vinessa (Joe) Alvarado, Kokomo; mother, Theresa (Don) Tapscott, Russiaville, brother, Jeremiah (Jynna) Jaecques, Indianapolis; grandchildren, Alohnna and Athena; nephew, Dylan Jaecques, and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Shannon was preceded in death by her son, Josh Hale, and father, Carey J. Pratt.

Joyce K. Walker

January 6, 1943 - September 21, 2015

Joyce Kathryn (Miller) Walker, 72, of Kokomo, passed from this world to be in the presence of the Lord at 6:50 P.M., Monday, September 21, 2015 at St. Vincent Kokomo. She was born January 6, 1943 in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Woodrow L. and Laurel M. (Smith) Miller. She married Delmar L. Walker on October 6, 1961 in Kokomo, and he survives.

After Joyce graduated from Kokomo High School, she moved to Bakersfield, California to earn a Master’s degree from California State University, Bakersfield. Joyce was a kindergarten teacher in Bakersfield for 20 years. She enjoyed working with children. Not only did she teach Sunday school at New Life Church in Kokomo, where she was a member for about 8 years, she also mentored school kids from Elwood Haynes Elementary School. As a member of New Life Church, she led a women’s bible study, assisted in coaching Upward co-ed basketball, assisted with the church food pantry, and mentored women of the church. Joyce also enjoyed shopping, traveling, and studying God’s word.

Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Del; son, Scott Allen Walker, of Stuttgart, Germany; daughter, Lisa Renee (Ken) Parks, of Lynchburg, VA; two grandchildren, Joy Marlies Palfoeldi, of Stuttgart, Germany, and Mia Powell, of San Francisco; two sisters, Ruth Anger, of Ft. Wayne, and Marion Clark, Bicknell, Ind.; sister-in-law, Karen Hendershot, of Kokomo; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne L. Miller.

Raymond A.

McKinney

August 28, 1945 - September 23, 2015

Raymond A. McKinney, 70, of Kokomo, went home to be with the Lord at 3:58 A.M. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015. He was born on August 28, 1945 in Kokomo to the late Claude and Lenora McKinney. Raymond married Marcella (Jones) McKinney on June 15, 1990 in Kokomo.

Raymond retired in 2012 from Bona Vista after more than 40 years of employment as an assistant to the supervisors. He enjoyed fishing with family, and recycling cans. Raymond was a compassionate and giving person, who was known as a jokester and fun loving person. He was a member of the Southside Apostolic Church.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 25 years, Marcella; sons, Chuck (Heather), Robert (Crystal), Mark (Becky), and Raymond Kelly; daughter, Kay (Phillip) Causey; step-daughter, Robin (John Downing) Strother; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Roger) Wisehart; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and twelve siblings.

Mary L. Eaton

Mary Louise Eaton, 92, was born in Sharpsville, Indiana, on July 6, 1923, and passed away Saturday afternoon, Sept. 19, 2015, at Life Care Center in Sparta, Tennessee. Mary and Earl L. Eaton were married Oct. 18, 1942, in Sharpsville, and they enjoyed nearly 73 years of life together.

Mary retired from Delco Electronics, and she and Earl spent nearly 30 years together in Florida before moving to Sparta.

Survivors include her husband, Earl; her three children, Eric Eaton and Fonda, Sparta, Tennessee, Deborah Fenstermaker and Bill, Kendallville, Indiana, and Ethan Eaton, Grand Prairie, Texas. She also has six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
