First Friends Noodle Dinner

First Friends Meeting of Kokomo, a Christian church in the Quaker tradition, is having a chicken or beef and noodle dinner on Sept. 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. The dinner will be a fund raiser for the Peace Scholarship Committee, which awards yearly scholarships to area, high school students. Meals include chicken or beef and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, and drink for $8. Desserts are $1. Noodle sundaes are $4. Cost is $3.50 for children ages 3 to 10, and children under 3 years old eat free. Dry noodles are sold by the pound, and menu items are also available by the quart. Carry-outs are available. First Friends Meeting is located at 1801 W. Zartman Road.

Brookside Chicken & Noodles

Brookside Free Methodist Church, 190 E. 400 S., is having a chicken noodle dinner on Sept. 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. Cost is $9 for ages 11 and up, $6 for ages 4 to 10, and free to children 3 and under.

Shiloh UMC Breakfast

Shiloh United Methodist Church, 5741 W. 100 N., is having a community breakfast on Sept. 21 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. There will be a freewill offering.

Discover Kokomo

Come to Discover Kokomo, and the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library and the Greater Kokomo Visitors Bureau will help you make the most of your family day, date night, or staycation. Discover Kokomo will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 21 at KHCPL Main.  Drop by and discover the upcoming and ever-growing list of local activities for all ages and interests.

Putt-Putt in the Library

Celebrate Miniature Golf Day by bringing the family to the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library to play a round of nine-hole putt-putt in the Children’s Services Department. Putt-Putt in the Library will be from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 21, at KHCPL Main.

Russiaville UMC Blood Drive

Russiaville United Methodist Church, 180 N. Union St., Russiaville, is hosting a Red Cross blood drive on Sept. 21 from 8 to 12:30 p.m. Call 1-800-RED-CROSS to schedule your appointment. Walk-ins also are welcome.

Clothing Drive

Galilean Missionary Baptist Church, 507 N. Union St., is having a clothing drive on Sept. 21 from 12 to 3 p.m. There will be clothes for men, women, and children.

A. Philip Randolph Youth Summit

  1. Philip Randolph Institute will have a youth summit on Sept. 21 from 12 to 2 p.m. at UAW Local 685, 929 E. Hoffer St. There will be a panel of local community leaders to speak. Ages 13 to 18 are welcome. Lunch will be provided.
