Childhood Education Center Story Time

The Very Early Childhood Education Center will be hosting story time on Feb. 13 from 10 to 1045 a.m. Local librarian Susan Bednarz will be reading books, singing songs, and having craft time with the children. September's theme is Farm Animals. Story Time is available the second Friday of every month and contains a different theme each month. The center is located at 210 W. Walnut St. (in the United Way building). Plan to stay and play in the free activity room after story time. Each child every visit will receive an age-appropriate free book. Also, make sure to register your children 5 and under for three free Birthday Castle where your child can visit and choose a free toy during their birth month. The center’s activity room hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

Country Palace Breast Cancer Night

On Sept. 13, the UAW 685 Women’s Committee Making Strides for Breast Cancer team is having premier night for their breast cancer night. You’ll be able to order your 2019 Country Palace breast cancer shirts that evening. There will be a git-up dance line challenge from 7 to 9 p.m. Adult entertainment will start at 9 p.m. with the Rodney Collins Band, and Secondhand Smoke will perform at 11:30 p.m.

Fine Arts Series Concert

The first performance of the 2019–2020 Music at Christ series at Christ Lutheran Church, 3401 S. Dixon

Road, features concert organist Nicholas Schmelter on Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. Schmelter is director of worship and congregational life at First Presbyterian Church, Caro, Mich. A reception will follow the concert.
