Looking for something to do today? Check out the community calendar submissions for Oct. 10:

Mayoral Forum

On Oct. 10, the Kokomo Area Creation Care meeting will sponsor a forum with the two mayoral candidates, Republican Tyler Moore and Democrat Abbie Smith. Sandra Grant from the League of Women Voters will act as moderator. Our members have questions for the candidates on their plans and  thoughts on improving our local environment. We are concerned how climate change is and will continue to affect the quality of life for our community. The meeting is open to all and will begin at 7 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church on 3401 S. Dixon Road. Snacks and fellowship are available before the meeting at 6:45 p.m.

Historical Society Needs Volunteers

Do you want to be a part of local history and represent a unique group of people? The Howard County Historical Society needs volunteers. The Historical Society is hosting a recruitment fair from 4 to 6 p.m. on Oct.10 in the Elliott House adjacent to the Seiberling Mansion. If interested; come meet a few of our long-term volunteers.

Kokomo Noon Kiwanis

The Kokomo Noon Kiwanis Club’s weekly speaker on Oct. 10 will be Craig Trott, who will discuss Kokomo’s history.  Kiwanis meets every Thursday at the Kokomo Country Club.  Social time is from 11:30 to 12 p.m., and the meeting is from 12 to 1 p.m.  Everyone is welcome.
