New pastors take reins at Southview

Kokomo Southview Church announces that former Haworth High School graduate Brent Oliver, along with his wife, Tammy (Pierce) Oliver (KHS grad), will be installed as the new pastors at 5 p.m. on Sunday Nov. 10. The Olivers have been in ministry for 35 years. According to Pastor Oliver, “It has been our great joy and privilege to see hundreds of lives transformed by the power of the gospel. Over the past five years we have regularly experienced God’s miracle and healing power—including my own wife who was told she had Stage 4 metastatic cancer—which scans can no longer find. We pray and anticipate that God will do the same mighty works right here in Kokomo.” Southview Church is located on S.R. 26, about one mile east of 931. New service times for the church are 5 p.m. Sundays and 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Fine Arts Series Concert

The third performance of the 2019–2020 Music at Christ series at Christ Lutheran Church, 3401 S. Dixon Road, features Stephen Distad on organ and Justin Langham on trumpet, performing as Houston-based Deux Voix (French for “two voices”). The concert begins at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, at the church. A reception will follow the concert. This concert celebrates the 20th anniversary of Thomas Dearchs serving as minister of music in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America at St. John’s and Christ Lutheran Churches, Kokomo.
