We’ve official entered Hallothanksmas. Not familiar? It’s that fun time of the year that starts mid-October and runs through the end of the year.
We tend to start celebrating holidays earlier and earlier and dragging them out as long as possible. I’m not mad about it. People always seem to be in brighter, cheerier moods during this time, and I sure appreciate that!
Whether we like it or not, the holidays are rapidly approaching. If you’re anything like me, you’re not ready. You could have all year to prepare (which we do, technically), and you’d still have “one more thing” to do before you feel like you’re ready for the hustle and bustle of the holidays.
As I’ve gotten older, though, I’ve found myself wanting to avoid the crowds, lines, and stress of going store-to-store shopping. I’d rather sit on my couch in my sweatpants and shop from the comfort of my home. That way, too, I don’t have to search for an item that may not be where I think it should be in the store or get there and they’ve sold out of them. I don’t feel like that makes me a Grinch. I feel like it makes me a happier Santa.
If you can relate, and you do most of your holiday shopping online, you can support Bona Vista Programs at the same time. Did you already know that? Well, help us spread the word! If this is new to you, let me tell you how you can help while doing shopping you’re already going to do anyway.
First, go to smile.amazon.com and select Bona Vista Programs, Inc. as your charitable organization. This site is the exact same as going to Amazon.com so don’t worry about it looking different or not having what you need. Because of that, once you’ve chosen your charitable organization then you can shop like you normally would. Select and pay for your purchases, and AmazonSmile will generate a donation to Bona Vista Programs based off what you bought. Sounds easy enough to me!
Now, the holidays aren’t just about shopping for gifts. We all know that. It’s also about food (family and many other things), right? Kroger has made a commitment to helping community growth, and part of this commitment is their Community Awards program. It’s as easy as swiping your Kroger Plus Card at the checkout lane after you register it and link it to Bona Vista Programs. It’s simple, too! Visit www.kroger.com/communityrewards, and follow a few steps to link your account to us. This doesn’t just help during the holidays. It’s good 365 days a year!
When you give to Bona Vista, services are made available to those in need. Any donation, big or small, will go toward making a difference in the lives of the 2,000 individuals that Bona Vista serves daily. These donations help keep our services in the community. The support of our donors to our nonprofit organization is relied on heavily, and we do not take it for granted.
And, because we appreciate our donors so much, we invite you to see where your donations are going and why they are needed at Bona Vista. Stepping through our doors can show you all of the opportunities that Bona Vista has to offer. We want you to experience the joys that we share each and every day.
I strongly encourage you to tour our organization so you know the power of your donation. You can call our Community Education Coordinator Troy Bowers at 765-457-8273 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org today to schedule a tour.
