TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME — During last year’s Bona Vista night, the adults served, like Austin R., met the Jackrabbits mascot, Jax.

Take me out to the ballgame. Take me out with the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks…

The sun has finally been shining, and now I’m thinking about baseball season. I don’t know about you, but at our house that’s a pretty exciting time. We have either played baseball/softball or watched baseball/softball for as long as we can remember. Naturally, my girls have grown up at the ballpark and (thankfully) enjoy it as much as we do. Maybe for different reasons (like the concession stand), but we will take it!

So, we are no stranger to the Kokomo Jackrabbits. We’ve had season tickets since the second year of their existence and can’t wait to see what being a part of the Northwoods League will bring. Plus, I hear there have been some upgrades/changes/etc. to Kokomo Municipal Stadium, so we are ready to check those out soon!

Have you been to a game at Kokomo Municipal? If so, you already know how amazing the facility and atmosphere are. If not, what are you waiting for? A personal invitation? Well, here it is! We want you to come to the game on May 31 versus the Kenosha Kingfish for Bona Vista Programs Night! No, we won’t be paying for all of your tickets, but what we will do is offer you an opportunity to support Bona Vista Programs while also having a great time.

Opening night is Thursday, May 30, but we are your first chance to catch a weekend game – Friday, May 31! What do you need to do to support us? I’m so glad you asked! All you need to do is go online to kokomojackrabbits.com and click "buy tickets" to order your tickets! When it asks for the code, type in BONA. Then, buy as many tickets as you’d like! Be sure to get one for yourself, your significant other, your kids, your kids’ friends, your neighbors, your co-workers, your mailman, your hairstylist – there really is no limit!

Support Local Journalism

Now, more than ever, the world needs trustworthy reporting—but good journalism isn’t free. Please support us by making a contribution.

Tickets are $17 (reserved and comes with a hot dog!), $11 dugout reserved, and $8 for the lawn, and $2 per ticket sold using our code (BONA) goes directly back to Bona Vista Programs and the people we serve. If you’re not comfortable buying tickets online, you can call Thomas at 765-419-1208 and tell him you want to help us out. He can take your order over the phone, and he is super friendly!

If you don’t think you can make it to the game, that’s OK! Wouldn’t it be cool to purchase tickets and donate them to someone? Think about someone who may not be able to afford it who would really enjoy a night out with their spouse or their kids. Or someone who has really helped you out and you’d like to thank them. The possibilities are endless for ways to support Bona Vista Programs that night!

We can’t thank the Kokomo community enough for all you do to support Bona Vista, our programs, and the people we serve. We couldn’t do it without your generosity. We hope you’ll come out to the game at 7:05 p.m. on Friday, May 31, to shout out when they announce that Bona Vista is the non-profit of the night but also to enjoy yourselves and take the opportunity to sit back and reflect on all you to do help those in need in this community.

We appreciate you, and can’t wait to see you there!
