Bona Vista

2019 has proven to be a wonderful year at Bona Vista Programs, and we are anxiously awaiting all that 2020 has in store for our organization and those we serve daily.

Some highlights from 2019 include:

• Our Pre-Employment Transition Services program continued to grow and helped more than 300 high school students with disabilities find the right path for themselves after school ends.

• Our Miami County adult day program merged with Ivy Tech in Peru to promote inclusion within the community and provide more opportunities for the adults we serve and the college students.

• Our WorkForce Diversity team supported more than 200 individuals along their journey to find community employment.

• Our adult day programs in Kokomo continued to create one-of-a-kind products for the Corner Décor Gift Store and sold their items at several community events!

We are a busy agency with many goals and aspirations for our 14 core programs. Each year, Bona Vista continues to grow and change with the industry – and it can become a challenge. We could not be successful without the help of our donors, supporters, family, loved ones, and advocates.

Support Local Journalism

Now, more than ever, the world needs trustworthy reporting—but good journalism isn’t free. Please support us by making a contribution.

Bona Vista would not be where it is today without those brave parents who took a chance in 1958 and started a small school that would one day be an agency that serves over 1,000 people each day and employs more than 400.

With all of that being said, as we look forward to 2020 we know that our projects and aspirations are more than we can accomplish on our own. We need you! We will have more specific information on ways you can help us with upcoming projects soon. We are so excited about them, but we want to make sure we have all of our ducks in a row so we can answer any questions you may have when we make the official announcements.

In the meantime, as you look at 2020, I would beg of you to consider donating to Bona Vista. No matter how large or small of an organization, non-profits are notoriously trying to do more with less. That’s where your intentional generosity is important. If you’re a business, plan to sponsor an event. If you are an individual, set up a recurring donation online. If you don’t know what to buy that hard-to-shop-for person on their birthday, honor them with a gift to us in their name.

There are so many ways you can help our organization, but our biggest need will always be financial. That’s the bottom line. When you serve more than 1,000 people every single day and pay more than 400 employees, as I mentioned earlier, there will never be enough financial resources for everything additional you’d like to accomplish.

Through your gift to Bona Vista Programs, you can be a part of the mission and vision of the organization. You will make a tangible impact and share the joy we experience each day working with children and adults with special needs.

If you have any questions about donating to Bona Vista (how to do it, why you should do it, etc.) or if you’d like to take a tour and see the faces of the lives you will impact first hand, please call Community Education Coordinator Troy Bowers at 765-457-8273 ext 321 or email him at We look forward to partnering with each of you in your own unique way in 2020, and wish you all nothing but the absolute best!
