One of the three suspects in an attempted armed robbery that took place at CVS on Markland Avenue in November has been arrested.
Tyrel Bartlett, 21, of Indianapolis was arrested for armed robbery (level 3 felony) and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon (level 4 felony). Bartlett currently is incarcerated in the Marion County Jail, awaiting extradition to Howard County.
KPD is seeking additional information on the two remaining suspects.
On Nov. 11, 201, at approximately 4:41 p.m., officers of the Kokomo Police Department responded to CVS, 610 W. Markland Ave., in reference to an armed robbery. Witnesses and employees reported three males entered the store wearing ski masks and were armed with handguns. One of the suspects approached the front counter, demanding the cash from the register. The other two suspects jumped the counter at the pharmacy and demanded opioids from the pharmacist.
The first suspect fled out the front door without obtaining any cash from the register. The two suspects in the pharmacy jumped out the drive-thru window without obtaining anything from the pharmacy. All suspects fled south across Markland Avenue where they got into two separate vehicles.
